[...] Macau Daily Times did a quick run through on some interesting points located in Las Vegas Sands recent annual report filing. One of the more interesting things that you’ll find tucked away in there is that LVS still doesnt the land concessions approval for several of its Cotai Strip sites that they have already started construction on. This is not new news to everyone though, as an astute analyst had picked up on this last year and wrote about it in his blog, ZachStocks.com.
If you bought in the 70's you got a great trade. When I wrote about this on June 11 it was right around 80. I had been short from the mid 80s and got out in the low 70's when it reversed off the swing low. I'm not short now and would never hold a short position in a name making highs on such strong volume. Great trade! congratulations.

interesting, I've been very bullish on LVS especially in the 70s. i had 1k shares long at 76-77 and closed out my position today at 108.50. The other people i know who own the stock are very bullish, and although i love their growth prospects I believe that at current prices the risk/reward is just not there on a long position. However, In the short term I would not dare short this stock as it just has so much momentum (wynn's good news + venetian opening)

Zach:

I totally agree on your reading of LVS. Interestingly, insiders are busy selling the stock.

The analysts are counting future revenues from condo sales on Henquin Island. I haven't seen a communist govt. that stood by when a foreign company made Billions of dollars by selling property on leased land !

FD: I am short on LVS

The annual report simply states that the "sub-concession" can be recalled on these grounds. As you may know, LVS is as a portion of the larger concession. So i'm sorry i don't have a better answer for you. If you own Wynn or MGM i would at least check it out to know for sure how they will be treated.

Not to be lazy but since you read LVS, did you also read how Wynn's and MGM's concessions will be treated? Is this universal to all the concessions or merely LVS's?
