I suggest you investigate D1 Oils, a British company that is the world's leading expert on the biofuel Jatropa. Jatropa is far better than corn based enthenol as it can be grown on non feedstock land, a single plant can be harvested for over 30 years and has a fuel value that is very high. I think it is worth watching. I own a bit too. If you come to any conclusions I would appreciate your comments. Thank you!

Just noticed a typo. Current market value of DSX fleet is at least 30% LOWER than enterprise value.

Have you tried to made fundamental valuation of DSX stock? Don't you think that current charter rates, which are almost 10 times higher historic averages should be treated as a one-time gains? It is just enough to have a look at BDI chart for the last 5 years to see it.
Have you tried to calculate market value of DSX fleet? Does it worry you that it is at least 30% higher than the enterprise value of Diana shipping? DSX, just like any other shipping company has no competitive advantage in any way, so, direct investment in a vessel, makes much better investment.
While I can understand excitement about current spot rates, which are even likely to increase in 2008, have you tried to calculate the cash flow they are going to produce? The numbers you would get are significant, but even taking them into considiration, DSX and other companies with significant spot exposure appear to be extremly overvalued to companies with locked charters for the next 2 years, like QMAR.
DSX is not the most overvalued stock in dry bulk shipping sector, but how a investor that bases his decisions on fundamentals can buy this stock is a mistery to me.

zach, check out whole foods markets-wfmi. if you already know this a franchise with some long term potential... then realize this... they got the merger deal with Wild Oats done (remember the excellent progress by Game Stop + Electronics BOutique) also exam the chart, and the 18 month downslope from $80 to $40- has finally stopped and today the shares rise out of the first modest consolidation. bulls believe that perhaps there is potential towards $60.
