Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) – Does the Growth Justify the Price? | ZachStocks is actually a pretty good website. I really like the design. You sure make me come back again. I have one question though. Is your theme a premium one and where can I find it? Thanks!

i admit now is not a long growth friendly market. but at the same time CMG deserves stradegy attention for long term potential. By my estimates Chipotles is the best positioned chain in the industry. the price point per plate is a compelling $6-ish. 5 year point.. each 100 units adds about $1.00 to after tax eps. this simple caluculation is restuarant margin 22% x $1.8million unit x 100 less tax bite. this number improves as unit volumes and restuarnt margins uptick. driven by evolving 2 assembly lines and drive through. it seems obvious this chain is going to 5,000 units. On the confrence call the company noted some markets are averaging more then $2 million/unit and some $3 million/unit and those markets still have growing comparable sales.

i am surprised that CMG-B shares are priced below $100.
this might be a P/E ratio of under 27 if estimate of $3.60 for '08 sticks. of course economy issues are derailing consumer plays.... but CMG is growing the way SBUX was 10 years ago!

CHIPOTLES.... the margins are upticking and i assume the earnings in 2008 will be $3.60+ or nealy $4, and with the croud following the story, the PEG ratio will probably have a crack at 1.5, thus the shares have room a little more uptick room towards $200. the moral of this story is that the longs opened in the $60s to $80s last summer should have been held. darn. Netflix, more then just tip of iceburg, the estimates for 07/08 are around $1- making the current valuation sufficent. but the Blockbuster Online excessive spending has costed NFLX about 50 cents in eps a year while the instant viewing licenses is also costing 50 cent eps a year, thus their *might be* a clean cut path for the eps to move from $1-ish to $2-ish. espically considering the revenue and gross profit blocks are huge $1.4+ Billon and $500 million in 2008. the growth rate is also a little better then a quick scan would suggest. so if the story works out favorable in 2008 the ballpark will be $2 eps with a PE ratio of 20 to 30.

thankyou. right now the United States ratios are 700 Chipotle sites to 6,000 Taco Bell sites. the questions is how much is a future Chipotle chain of 2,000 to 6,000 sites plus some international exposure worth today. how many Chipotles in Atlanta? extra - remember the list of 13 beaters that beat estimates in the third quarter? i dont care which one(s) of the 13 stand out. but so far the meditions are becoming most optomistic perceptions for Netflix-nflx. in that NFLX appears able to beat for several more quarters.
