"And business does appear to be good. A few weeks ago the company announced fourth quarter earnings with revenue up 7% to $526.8 million and non-GAAP earnings of $1.10 (up 12%). For the full year, KCI earned $3.82 and is expected to report 2010 earnings near $4.40 which represents 15% growth. KCI continues to expand its geographic footprint and will be focusing on growing its Japanese business in 2010."

I luv this company and I see it continuing to move upward with a long way to go! Very profitable. And thank you so much for the excellent research you have done for us!

I suggest you dig a little deeper here, your doctors and insurance company call center employee might not have the full story. Vacuum therapy is a fairly mature business which over the last year has seen increased competition and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement cuts (and I don't think that's going to stop, especially if they are getting high margins for commodity consumables like tubes) - see their recent conference call transcripts on seekingalpha, and their last 10K. Thus the 15% earnings growth expected for KCI in 2010 is a bounce back, not a long term earnings growth rate; Yahoo shows 6.67%/year is the expected long term average growth, and that will be what determines the multiple. They are in debt because in 2008 they bought Lifecell, which has a dominant but aging product portfolio of skin graft products, for $1,700M, or a staggering 7 times annual sales! All in all a decent choice, but IMHO less of an opportunity than you suggest.
